Geospatial Information management mapping  the Future

On behalf of The Royal Jordanian Geographic Centre, I am pleased to invite you to participate in “The first Jordanian international Conference on Geospatial Information management - mapping the Future”. The Conference will be held in Amman - Jordan on Sep. 12-14, 2017.

The Conference is an exceptional event that addresses the latest developments in geospatial fields: Geographic Information System (GIS), Remote Sensing (RS), Photogrammetry, Global Positioning System (GPS), and Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR)). It aims to bring together leading scientists, industrial experts, and technology providers from all around the world to exchange and share their knowledge and experiences on the aspect of Geospatial Technologies.

The Conference is organized by The Royal Jordanian Geographic Centre, the Regional Center for Space Science and Technology Education for western Asia-UN, the Regional Office of Astronomy for Development in the Arab countries (ROAD), and in collaboration with the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences, and the Jordanian Astronomical Society.

The Conference Main topics

General Information about the Conference

1.    Date and Venue

·         Venue: The Royal Jordanian Geographic Centre, Amman, Jordan.

Amman (holiday inn Amman hotel). 

·         Date: Sep. 12-14, 2017

2.    Participation fees

·         Registration fees: $300 is paid to cover expenses of printed materials, conference bags, coffee breaks and lunch throughout the Conference.

·         Transport tickets and hotel accommodation are covered by the participants.

3.    Lectures and Research Papers

·         The deadline for paper submission on the various themes of the Conference is the 20th of Jul 2017.

·         Participants may submit worksheets as reports on the activities of their countries in the domains of Geospatial Technologies.

4.    Accommodation

·         Participants should cover their own hotel accommodation.

* The organizing committee shall provide an offer of some recommended hotels.

5.    Local transport

·         The organizing committee offers transport of Participants between the Queen Alia International Airport and hotels

*The flight information should be sent before arrival to Amman by filling the attached form.

 * Participants who need a Jordanian visa will be offered official letters in this regard as requested.

6.    Dress code

·         Inauguration and Conference sessions: official dress code.

7.    Medical care

·         It should be the participants’ responsibility

8.    Weather

·         In August, weather in Amman is usually warm.

9.    Currency

·         The official currency unit in Jordan is the Jordanian Dinar (JD): 1 JD = $1.4

·         Hotels, restaurants and shopping malls use Jordanian dinars.

·         Exchange points are available in airports, banks, hotels and exchange offices.

10. Language

·         English is the official language of the Conference. Simultaneous interpretation is not available.

11. Leisure activities

·         There will be an optional touristic trip to Petra or the Dead Sea, which would  On account of subscribers.

Scientific papers

  1. The  complete paper:

-        The lecture must be sent in Microsoft Word (doc) & MS Power point format.

-        Margins: 20 mm from all sides.

 

  1. Abstract:

-        Paper size: A4

-        Microsoft Word (doc) format (300-400 words).

-        Font: TIMES NEW ROMAN.

-        Font size: 12 for the main text, 20 for headings.

-        The abstract must include:

-          Name and title.

-          The organization and the Occupation.

-          The address: website, email, fax, Tel. and mobile.
